Tatvajnana Vidyapeeth (informally known as "Vidyapeeth") is a philosophical university set up in a tapovan style in Thane, near Mumbai. The meaning of ''Tatva-gyan'' (Philosophy) is "the ultimate Wisdom" and the meaning of ''Vidya-peeth'' is "University". It aims to instill and teach Vedic concepts to its students. It was founded by Pandurang Shastri Athavale, an activist philosopher and social reformer in India.Here the main focus is vedic style of teaching and practical approach by SELF DEPENDENCY and SELF DISCIPLINE by living together with diverse students across the world. The real effect of education comes only when the learner is Curious. This curious young learners come here and stay two years along with four enlightened professors also former students of tatvajnana vidyapeeth. Daily schedule contains prayers, lectures,individual duties, study cicles (group discussion on cultural issues) and sports. Four major classes are : Indian philosophy, Western philosophy,Ramayan/ Mahabharata (Indian epics) and English literature.
